  A global business intelligence, Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU) has said Lagos, the Nigeria’s commercial capital city is the world’s second least liveable urban area. EIU ranked Lagos 171 out of 172 countries in the list of most liveable cities in the world for the first quarter of 2022, according to the latest 2022 Global Liveability Index. This report makes the Nigerian best city the worst in Africa as Damascus (Syria) and Tripoli (Libya) continue to anguish at the bottom of the list along with Lagos (Nigeria) as they face social unrest, terrorism and conflict.   Bitcoin (BTC) sank below $20,000 for the first time since December 2020, losing 9.5% in the past 24 hours. At time of publication, the largest cryptocurrency by market cap was changing hands around $18,984.1 after trading at a low of $18,739.50. Ether (ETH), the second largest crypto, also continued its decline, falling 9.78% to about $992 at time of publication. The crypto panic – which began a few weeks ago with the Terra ecosystem collapse and then spread to the Celsius platform – has moved on to hedge fund Three Arrow Capital, which reportedly had its collateral liquidated by crypto lender BlockFi. Checking traditional markets, U.S. stocks saw more massive selling on Thursday, with the Nasdaq tumbling 4.1% and the S&P 500 3.25% before a slight recovery on Friday. For the week, the Nasdaq and S&P are each lower by about 6%.

  LAGOS—Police authorities in Lagos State have reportedly invited popular music artiste, Damini Ogulu, alias Burna Boy, for interrogation over the alleged shooting of fun-seekers by police escorts assigned to him. This is coming on the heels of the revelation, yesterday, that the Burna Boy’s five police escorts were assigned to him from the Force Headquarters, Abuja. However, at press time, it was gathered that detectives are working round the clock to trace his whereabout just as news-making rounds said he is not in the country. Police sources said Burna Boy has allegedly fled the country immediately after the incident to avoid questioning, adding: “Already, five police escorts attached to the singer have since been arrested and are being detained at the Lagos State Police Command, Ikeja.” A police source revealed that the escorts involved in the incident didn’t notify the police about the incident.   Motorcycle (Okada) riders and Lagos State Task Force are reportedly involved in a clash at the Idi Araba area of Lagos. The Lagos government banned motorcycle operations in some locations since June 1, 2022. The affected Local Government Areas are Apapa, Eti Osa, Ikeja, Lagos Island, Surulere and Lagos Mainland. The authorities already seized thousands of bikes which are now routinely crushed publicly. Reacting to today’s face-off, Lagos Police Command has assured residents of safety. Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin denied reports that the riders fought security personnel. “The Taskforce went well prepared. They (riders) were just causing a scene after Taskforce left with some of their impounded motorcycles.” Hundeyin said the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) and men from the Area Command have been drafted to the scene.   Chukwuemeka Emmanuel popularly known as Sabinus is a popular skit maker and an award winning comedian. He tendered an apology to Nigerians this morning after he was dragged online. The 2022 AMVCA winner trended on Twitter on the 6th of June, 2022. This was not unconnected to a comedy video he released in the morning. Recall that Sabinus Comedy 2022 made him a winner at AMVCA Awards. Unfortunately, the comedy became a source of scorn and criticism today. Nigerians who criticised the comedian demanded that Sabinus Comedy should be deleted immediately he posted it on Twitter. Although the comedian deleted the post immediately, he has since reposted the skit on his Twitter page. The video tagged "Sabinus The Boxer" was posted first on Sabinus Instagram page before he posted it on Instagram. While he received applauses on Instagram for the comic video, the opposite happened on Twitter.

There has been uproar as student teacher on teaching practice impregnated 24 girls, headmistress and four female teachers.  THE NATION REPORTERS   reports that a student teacher whose identity is yet to be known has allegedly impregnated about 24 school girls, the headmistress of the school, and four other female teachers in the school. The incident occurred in the Ashanti Region of Ghana at one of the Basic Schools in the Asokore Mampong Municipality. The teacher trainee has been alleged to be a level 400 student-teacher from a popular College of Education at Winneba. It is reported that the incident came out after his relationship with the headmistress went viral in the community.

  A young man and woman have been flogged by members of their community for allegedly promoting promiscuity in the area. Some local news platforms in Ghana reported that the lady who was paraded alongside the man at the forecourt of the Wa Naa’s Palace on Tuesday, May 31, and lashed by a group, has been advertising that she’s a commercial sex worker and did hookups. In a video shared by TV3, the young man who was featured in the hook-up video with the lady was also given hot lashes. It was also reported that Elders at Wa have decided that anytime they come across any of such videos, they should look for the persons behind them and deal with them since Islam frowns on such acts.

  Dr. Olunri, a Biotechnology lecturer at Bells University, Ogun State, went an extra mile to caution a student for keeping his hair, IgbereTV reports. According to a source, the student who is in his 200-level was accosted by the lecturer who called on staff of the school to shave his hair. In a video, Dr. Olunri, dressed in a pink native attire can be seen pinning the student to a chair and directing the staff with the clipper on what to do.  The student after the exercise was left with an alien hairstyle leaving students of the school to bemoan the ‘harassment’.

  Mr. Chimezie was said to have invited his younger brother, Promise to the hotel for incantation only for him to die. A young boy suspected to be an internet fraudster aka yahoo boy has died at a hotel. According to ABN TV, the 16-year-old teenager has been identified as Chinecherem Promise Albert. He died in the early hours of Monday while performing incantation along with his 19-year-old brother, Chimezie Joshua Albert, a suspected internet fraudster popularly known as 'yahoo yahoo'. A source who spoke with ABN TV on the condition of anonymity said the incident happened at one Eunice hotel located at Milverton Avenue Aba, Abia State. Mr. Chimezie was said to have invited his younger brother, Promise to the hotel for incantation. Promise however lost his life in the process. As students across the country continue to protest against the ongoing strike, students on Friday in Imo State took to the streets of Owerri to also lay their grievances. Led by various students bodies including National Association of Nigerian Students  ( NANS) Zone F, Nations Union of Imo State Students (NUISS) and SUG presidents of various institutions in the state.
